THE Performing Arts Conservatory "Where the Arts Come to Life!"
Hi! I'm Doug Broome with Performance WorX in Hattiesburg near Turtle Creek Mall. We have an established music studio specializing in voice, piano, guitar, brass, woodwind, strings, and percussion instruments, plus acting, through my professional 6-member faculty. We have overwhelming 100 students in our Studios and I have seen great success over my 40yr career teaching and performing. I teach piano and voice myself, and I am experienced with young children through adults, beginners through advanced. As a matter of fact, my specialty is adult piano using a proven program that I have now taught for 40 years to folks from teens through my oldest student at 86! We have an excellent piano faculty experienced in teaching young beginners through advanced students. Our piano program is the Bastien method which teaches both chord structure and traditional note reading, a graduated skills plan which covers all 12 major keys, their relative minors, and transposition among them over a 5 year period. A classical approach to the piano, our piano students are exposed to traditional piano literature and popular music on the piano progressively from intro through advanced studies, as well as music the students bring in of interest such as school projects, church music, and today’s pop music and “fun stuff.” Our students develop a well rounded musical knowledge. We are all well-accustomed to teaching children through older adults and also in teaching several different genres and at beginning through advanced levels. We have quite a number of children as young as age 4 as well as teens and adults studying with us in the Studios. I feel confident we can accommodate your schedule for lesson times.
